ppli.si — Private placement life insurance around the world
ppli.si is an English-first reference on private placement life insurance (PPLI) and private placement variable annuities (PPVA) across seven booking jurisdictions: Singapore, Bermuda, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Ireland, the Cayman Islands and US domestic PPLI. It is written for internationally mobile families, family offices and the professionals who advise them.
The site asks one question throughout: if the same contract structure were booked in a different jurisdiction, what would change? Each page follows the same lens — legal framework, asset-segregation mechanism, investment rules, client eligibility, what the policy means for tax at home, and which professionals are needed. Topics covered: asset protection and its limits, investment flexibility and the investor-control line, CRS, FATCA and the US §7702 and §817(h) tests, carrier and custody arrangements, suitability and common misconceptions.
What this site does not do: it does not recommend carriers, jurisdictions or products; it does not quote any carrier's fees or minimums; it does not describe any jurisdiction as exempt from tax or reporting; and it does not promise protection, approvals or tax outcomes. Every figure carries a unit, a date and a source, and the sources page lists them, with secondary sources labelled.
Division of labour within the network: ppli.com.sg covers PPLI from a Singapore perspective in Chinese, including parties, minimums and fees, trusts, family offices and VCCs; vul.com.sg explains variable universal life and its boundary with PPLI; vccfund.si compares fund vehicles such as the VCC, Cayman SPC, Luxembourg SICAV and Irish ICAV; hnwsolution.com.sg covers wider planning, private-bank lending and residency; hnw.sg explains CRS for general readers. The Chinese pages here are summaries of the English pages.
